Pineapples... YUM

Last night I made hamburgers and a salad for dinner. Anja and Martin really like hamburgers, but they are not so much my favorite, so I just ate salad. By 9:30 I was hungry again, but nothing sounded good. NOTHING. Martin told me to go out and get whatever I wanted, so I went to the grocery thinking I wanted chips and salsa. By the time I got there, chips and salsa didn't sound good anymore but fruit sounded really good, and so did soup. So I went to the soup aisle and before I could find the real soup I found the ramen noodles, which was EXACTLY what I wanted. Then I went back to the produce and bought myself a pineapple. While I was buying it I thought I remembered something my sister had told me once about pineapple being a natural labor inducer, so I texted her asking her about it. Then I went home and ate a third of the pineapple and only stopped because my mouth was completely on fire. I shared the rest with our neighbors Tara and Doug (Doug was at our house; he took some home to Tara) and with Martin. I kept thinking maybe that the pineapple, combined with the full moon and the low pressure weather system would bring on labor... and I only heard back from my sister just now with the following text regarding fresh pineapple:

"It really just gives you the runs."

Oh. Great.

I did the fresh pineapple thing w/Karol. No "rude bathroom experiences" but I was sick of pineapple by the end. We made a pineapple cheese cake had a few slices, then it sat in the fridge for a while. Then Joshua, with his Facemyer stomach of steel ate it.

I LOVE fresh pineapple, pregnant or not!!

The bathroom experience is only gained if you eat THE ENTIRE THING. That, apparently, it how you get it to throw you into labor. It threw me . . . but not into labor.

I ate tons of pineapple with Anastasia... no bathroom issues... or labor. lol. thats really funny though. I guess its good to know if you are really constipated during pregnancy! What was your exact due date? I was thinking about you because I thought the moon was full last night... so my fingers are crossed for you! My guess is Friday, but it would be cool to have a St. Patricks Day baby! Easy for me to say because I am not pregnant anymore...

I thought I heard the same thing or maybe it was that it can have an affect on us but just...lets say about nine months after eating a lot of pineapple you might need to go into labor.

I've craved fruit this whole pregnancy and consumed a lot of fresh pineapple during the first trimester. Yum is right. My mouth is always torn up after eating it but it doesn't stop me.

When I just saw the title of the post, I thought, "Oooh, yeah, those are supposed to induce labor!" And then I saw the rest of the post and saw that you knew that! I remember my friend Megan telling Claire to eat pineapple when she was a week overdue. There's something else random, too... I'll have to email Megan and find out.
I heard the pedestrian bridge is a good place to walk while in the beginnings of labor.

Wow, I should make more posts about fresh fruit! Look at all these comments!

Funnily enough, I just finished off the last of the pineapple before coming in here to read up on the blogs. I am not in labor.

Laura- I wish I ate lots of fresh fruit during my pregnancy. Instead, I eat a little bit of fresh fruit, but mostly just M&Ms.

Clare- My due date is March 20th. It's still more than a week away and everyone keeps telling me how small my belly is, which is kind of discouraging, and I was so stupid to get my hopes up about going early just because Anja was so early. Ugh! It would be cool to have a St. Paddy's Day baby, that is true. AND, when I had Anja they fed me the BEST green jello EVER for the four days I was there. That stuff was incredible, and it's secretly the only reason we decided to have another child.

P.S. This isn't really Martin, it's Annie.

My kids were 8 weeks early. I wanted to KEEP THEM IN THERE, not get them out.

But, I saw this site:

It can't hurt to look.
