Meh. Blah. Hum.

I can't seem to shake the sleepies and even though there's loads of stuff to do around here (for instance, White Mountain and Colored Mountain, growing out of my bathroom floor) I feel like doing nothing. I'm tempted to go up and take a nap while Anja is sleeping but I know that as soon as I fell asleep, she'd wake up. It's hardly worth it.

We've got someone coming to look at our furnace on Friday. It's not working. It's blowing cold air and we replaced the filters and nothing happened. Sooo... that's one of those things everyone hopes is the least expensive of all the problems it could be. Luckily we have a relatively new, efficient furnace, so I doubt this will be an entire-replacement sort of thing. This is our main house furnace, by the way, not the horrible 1968 furnace that heats the Big Back Room. That one got red-tagged.

I've been working on a rag doll for Anja for Christmas. It's actually turning out really well. I'm very pleased for it being a patternless first attempt. I even got the hair to look good! Next up is clothing the poor naked thing, and then decided and attempting a face. Yikes! Maybe I should've done that part before the hair so I would have one side to practice on! I guess it could always be one of those weird faceless Amish dolls...

It's sad when you're growing out of your clothes not by your baby bump, but more by your newly sprouted back fat.

I hate laundry. It always seems so endless.

About the furnace thing- We had the same thing happen to us last year in our Cincinnati apartment. We couldn't figure out why the furnace was blowing cold air, and this was toward the end of November when it was getting pretty cold- we needed it fixed fast. Finally a maintenance man remembered that our heat is somehow generated off of our hot water system (perhaps this is fairly common and I just don't know). The valve that regulated our hot water was a little clogged. He took the valve out, cleaned it in some solution, put it back in, and our heat worked perfectly. It was weird because I never would have connected the two. That's probably not your problem since I'm guessing a home heating unit works differently than an apartment complex unit, but who knows. I hope the problem is easy and cheap to fix!

I would play the pregnancy card for the not feeling like doing any work because I felt like that 9 out of 10 days while I was pregnant. I just crafted instead. :)

Oh, and for the doll face, I draw my faces with a fabric pencil really lightly (ok I don't have a fabric pencil so I used a regular one) and then embroider on that. Its very easy that way. Good luck! I am sure Anja will appreciate the face no matter what.

Annie! I hope you're going to be posting pictures of this rag doll on the craft blog or at least here on your blog!! I can't wait to see it. Sounds adorable.

And these days I force myself to lie down first thing when I put C down for a nap. Then when I get up I can finish whatever I might need or want to do before he gets out of his crib! Sleep is good.
